James Calvin Clark died on 11 May 1862 at Saint Louis, Missouri; was struck in the temple by a canister ball at Shiloh, Tennessee during the Civil War. After being injured, he was transported to a hospital at Jefferson Barracks in Saint Louis, Missouri where he died.
