     William C. Paule was born on 14 January 1893 at Saint Charles County, Missouri. He married Margaret Elizabeth DeRoy, daughter of Peter Robert DeRoy and Sarah Jane Heavner, on 12 February 1918.

     Albert John Niemann was born on 4 July 1881 at Missouri. He married Vinnie Mary Main, daughter of Philip J. Main and Hannah Josephine Horton, before 1918.
     Albert John Niemann appeared on the census of 8 January 1920 at S.D.1; E.D.103; Sheet 5 A, Hannibal City, Marion County, Missouri; is age 38, married to Vinnie, and he is working as a pipe fitter. Vinnie's 3 children are with them. He appeared on the census of 5 April 1930 at E.D.64-4; S.D.4; Sheet 3 B, Hannibal Township, Marion County, Missouri; is age 49, widowed, and is not working. He is living with his stepdaughter, Dorothy Reher, and her family.

     Dorothy Helen Sanford was born on 31 October 1904 at Danville, Vermillion County, Illinois. She married Loland Main Sheppard, son of Otto Main and Eva M. Johnson. Dorothy Helen Sanford died on 15 October 1984 at Charlottesville, Albermarle County, Virginia, at age 79.

     Kurt Allen Sheppard was born on 18 September 1964 at Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona. He died in May 1981 at San Diego, San Diego County, California, at age 16.

     Ruth Robinson was born on 9 March 1904. She married Fay James Main, son of Richard Main and Janie M. Goldman. Ruth Robinson died in August 1974 at Bluffs, Scott County, Illinois, at age 70. She was buried in August 1974 at Pittsfield West Cemetery, Pittsfield, Pike County, Illinois.

     Eugene Roosevelt Leeds was born on 8 July 1899. He married Fern Alta Main, daughter of Richard Main and Janie M. Goldman, before 1941. Eugene Roosevelt Leeds died on 10 February 1963 at age 63. He was buried after 10 February 1963 at Pittsfield West Cemetery, Pittsfield, Pike County, Illinois.
     Eugene Roosevelt Leeds was in Psychopathic hospital in Jacksonville in 1955.

     Melissa Rebecca French was born on 1 June 1858 at Hardin Township, Pike County, Illinois. She married Frank Splain before 1876. Melissa Rebecca French married Daniel W. Main Jr., son of Daniel W. Main and Ruth Johnston, on 8 September 1887 at Pike County, Illinois. Melissa Rebecca French died on 3 April 1928 at Detroit Township, Pike County, Illinois, at age 69. She was buried on 5 April 1928 at Blue River Cemetery, Detroit Township, Pike County, Illinois; I have picture of very deteriorated grave marker that is right beside Daniel. We believe this to be Melissa's marker.

     Charity Cornwell was born circa 1855 at Illinois. She married Daniel W. Main Jr., son of Daniel W. Main and Ruth Johnston, on 1 May 1880 at Pike County, Illinois; I have copy of marriage license.

     Bessie Main was born in 1880 at Illinois. She married Robert Splain Sr., son of Frank Splain and Melissa Rebecca French, on 24 August 1896 at Pike County, Illinois. Bessie Main died in 1928. She was buried in 1928 at Blue River Cemetery, Detroit Township, Pike County, Illinois.

     Robert Splain Sr. was born on 1 May 1875 at Illinois. He married Bessie Main, daughter of Daniel W. Main Jr. and Charity Cornwell, on 24 August 1896 at Pike County, Illinois. Robert Splain Sr. died in 1957. He was buried in 1957 at Blue River Cemetery, Detroit Township, Pike County, Illinois.
     Robert Splain Sr. appeared on the census of June 1900 at S.D.10; E.D.113; Sheet 4 A, Detroit Township, Pike County, Illinois; is age 22, has been married 3 years to Bessie, and he is farming. Bessie has had 1 child, and he is with them. He appeared on the census of 5 May 1910 at Bloomfield Precinct, Scott County, Illinois; is age 33, has been married 13 years to Bessie, and he is farming. Bessie has had 6 children, all are with them. He appeared on the census of 14 January 1920 at S.D.12; E.D.176; Sheet 5 A, Bloomfield Township, Scott County, Illinois; is age 43, married to Bessie, and he is a sawyer at the lumber mill. Nine children are with them. He appeared on the census of 16 April 1930 at E.D.75-10; S.D.20; Sheet 3 A, Detroit Township, Pike County, Illinois; is age 52, widowed, and he is working as a laborer doing odd jobs. Six children are with him.

     Mary Catherine Splain was born on 16 October 1899 at Pike County, Illinois. She married Emmer Daniels, son of Oscar Daniels and Alberta Wade, before 1916. Mary Catherine Splain died on 2 March 1986 at Pike County, Illinois, at age 86.

     Emmer Daniels was born on 10 September 1894 at Pike County, Illinois. He married Mary Catherine Splain, daughter of Robert Splain Sr. and Bessie Main, before 1916. Emmer Daniels died on 18 October 1985 at Pike County, Illinois, at age 91.
     Emmer Daniels appeared on the census of 27 January 1920 at S.D.12; E.D.155; Sheet 5 B, Detroit Township, Pike County, Illinois; is age 25, married to Mary, and he is farming. Two children and a brother-in-law, Irvin Splain, are with them. He appeared on the census of 15 April 1930 at E.D.75-10; S.D.20; Sheet 2 B, Detroit Township, Pike County, Illinois; is age 35, married to Mary, and he is farming. Four children are with them.

     William David Main was born on 23 June 1935 at Griggsville, Pike County, Illinois. He died on 29 April 1976 at age 40; died in a car wreck. He was buried after 29 April 1976 at Oretta Cemetery, Beauregard Parish, Louisiana.
     William David Main served in the Army at Fort Polk.

     Thomas Johnston was born circa 1788 at Pennsylvania. He married Katherine Main, daughter of Philip Main and Clarianne 'Clory Ann' Rough, on 1 January 1824 at Pennsylvania. Thomas Johnston died in 1866 at Pike County, Illinois.
     Thomas Johnston appeared on the census of 1830 at Elizabeth Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; is age 20 and under 30 married and his wife is 20 and under 30. There are no children. If this is our Thomas and Katherine, they should have 1 son. He appeared on the census of 1840 at Elizabeth Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; is between 30 & 40 years of age. Four children and Katherine are with him. He appeared on the census of 25 September 1850 at Household 45 (Page 6), North Sewickley Township, Beaver County, Pennsylvania; is age 50 and is working as a laborer. Katherine is age 47. William and Solomon are working as a boatman. Joseph and Sarah are living here. He appeared on the census of 26 August 1860 at Page 28; Household 202, Hardin Township, Pike County, Illinois; is age 72, Joseph is still at home and is farming. I think this age is incorrect. A female M. McClain, age 8, is living with them.

     Solomon Thomas Johnston was born on 12 November 1832 at Beaver County, Pennsylvania. He married Susan Heavner, daughter of John Heavner and Elizabeth (?), on 13 November 1853 at Pittsfield, Pike County, Illinois; I have copy of marriage license. Solomon Thomas Johnston died on 27 July 1916 at Milton, Pike County, Illinois, at age 83; age 83 years, 7 months, 15 days. Died of Senility. He was buried on 29 July 1916 at Greenpond Cemetery, Montezuma Township, Pike County, Illinois; I have picture of grave markers, one military and one with Susan.
     Solomon Thomas Johnston was found on page 461 of "1880 Pike County History" (Quote) Solomon T. Johnston, farmer, sec. 19; P. O. Milton; is the son of Thomas and Catherine (Main) Johnston, natives of Pennsylvania, who emigrated to Pike Co., in 1850, settling in Hardin tp., where he died. His aged wife still survives. The subject of this sketch was born in Beaver Co., Pa., in 1832; was married in 1853 to Miss Susan, daughter of John Heavener; settled on his present farm of 240 acres in 1856. In 1862 he enlisted as Corporal in Co. E, 99thI. V. I., and served 15 months, participating in the battle at Port Gibson, where he was wounded by a minie ball that passed through the lungs and lodged in the back, where it still remains. He was confined in the hospital 6 months, when he was discharged. In consequence of this wound Mr. J. is disabled from physical labor. He served one term as Collector. Is politically a Democrat. His children are Melinda, Louisa, Ellen, Thomas, Andrew, Allen, Otis, Eva, Poe and Frank. (End Quote).      Joseph A. 'Joe' Johnston was born on 26 June 1836 at Pennsylvania. He married Susannah Main, daughter of Solomon Main and Susannah Nye, on 10 October 1861 at Pike County, Illinois. Joseph A. 'Joe' Johnston died in 1903 at Arkansas. He was buried in 1903 at Goodloe Cemetery, Quitman - north of, Cleburne County, Arkansas.

Susan Heavner died on 22 January 1904 at Milton, Pike County, Illinois, at age 69. She was buried after 22 January 1904 at Greenpond Cemetery, Montezuma Township, Pike County, Illinois; I have picture of double marker with Solomon.

     Melinda 'Linda' Johnston was born on 4 July 1854. She married Phillip Watt Thomas before 1872. Melinda 'Linda' Johnston died on 4 May 1942 at age 87. She was buried after 4 May 1942 at Time Cemetery, Hardin Township - Time Village, Pike County, Illinois.

     Louisa Johnston was born in March 1857 at Illinois. She married Robert O. Cox in 1876. Louisa Johnston died in 1940 at Illinois. She was buried in 1940 at Pittsfield West Cemetery, Pittsfield, Pike County, Illinois.
