The following is from Carol Walsh: (QUOTE) "I was told about this little boy the whole time I was a kid. The story we were told as kids was that little Elmer was running across the yard with an open pocket knife in his hand, when he stumbled and fell. The knife went through his chest and into his heart. He died quickly. His mother never was well after that. Mom said she just seemed to pine away." (UNQUOTE) Carol also tells that Elmer Alaska was named after his Uncle Elmer R. Drake.
